tipp #1 hair care

build-up makes things challenging!

If your hair feels greasy, stiff, dull, and heavy or if the soap lathers very little, please check if you are following all the steps from our hair washing tutorial! You need the right washing technique to achieve long-term success with soap! Depending on your water type and hair texture, soap residues (also called "soap build-up") can accumulate in your hair, which can only be avoided with the correct washing technique!

It’s also important to understand that residues from previous care products can remain as an invisible layer in your hair. These need to be washed out before the soap can work effectively! Such "product build-up" is partly responsible for the reduced cleaning power of the soap! Using an acidic rinse, as described in the tutorial, can help remove it more quickly.

Please try to avoid using other care products, such as conditioners or styling products, as these synthetics work against the natural soap and prolong the transition period.

If you still don’t reach your goal with the hair washing tutorial, contact us – we have a few more tricks to help with the transition.

tip #2 body care

less is more

Use only as much soap as absolutely necessary. Most of the dirt on our body is water-soluble and will wash away on its own with a warm shower. This includes things like dust, oil-free dirt, and sugar or salt-based substances. Soap is only necessary to remove fatty dirt that is "water-repellent" (hydrophobic), as soap chemically has the ability to create a bridge between water and fat.

What exactly is oily on the skin? Your body produces sebum, which naturally serves to care for and protect your skin. Washing it all off with every shower is counterproductive! Therefore, we recommend a thorough lathering only if you feel you have real, stubborn, and oily dirt on your skin. This might be the case if you do a lot of physical labor.

Otherwise, a shower with clear water and a bit of soap, focusing on the armpits, external genital area, feet, and hands, is usually sufficient. This not only saves you money but also makes your skin healthier and more resilient over time.

If your body skin is still dry, use our body balm to provide some natural moisture in the first few weeks. Over time, the natural oils from the soap itself should be sufficient.

tip #3 facial care

Is your face feeling tight?

If your skin feels tight since you started using our soaps, consider adding one of our facial oils to your routine. The natural oils help your skin find its natural balance! Over time, you may be able to stop using the oils.

Please avoid using creams or other commercially processed products.

Check if washing with soap only in the evening is sufficient. Less is healthier for your skin.

Always lather the soap for at least 30 seconds. This was a real revelation for me. Before, my hair was always sticky and greasy.

The tip with the vinegar helped, so now I can easily brush through my wet hair. After just the second wash, my hair is no longer greasy, and I have great volume. I haven't had such beautiful hair in years!

After a few initial difficulties (transition phase, as you described), I am absolutely thrilled. My long hair looks healthy and great, feels wonderful, and doesn’t get greasy so quickly. Nothing else will come near my hair and skin in the future!
